Therapy is different than coaching in that it involves a much deeper introspective process that involves a mental health diagnosis according to the DSM-V. Therapy looks at interpersonal relationships, family history, childhood dynamics, traumas, and identifies maladaptive or destructive coping patterns. Therapy is appropriate for those who continue to recreate unhealthy or destructive patterns in their life that get in the way of their healthy functioning in the relational, occupational or personal domains. I offer therapy sessions virtually, and I am licensed to provide services in New York and New Jersey.
Wellness coaching is designed to help you make significant life changes by providing supportive reinforcement. Wellness coaching does not diagnose or treat any kind of mental illness that is included in the DSM-V. Wellness coaching sessions are designed to facilitate sustainable behavior change by shining the light on your unique skills, strengths and inner resources in order to help you transform your dreams and desires into achievable goals through action.
